Downtown Wayzata Winter Engagement Photos

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Celine and Keegan’s engagement session in downtown Wayzata, Minnesota during the winter. Celine actually found me on TikTok before she even knew I was a wedding photographer! As fate would have it, she got recently gotten engaged and reached out to me to capture their engagement photos!

Celine and Keegan’s love story began on a dating app. They quickly realized they grew up just 15 minutes away from each other, yet it took a dating app to bring them together! For their first date, they went ice skating and grabbed coffee afterwards. Given their shared love of hockey (they’ve both been playing since 2nd grade!), it was only fitting to recreate that first date for their engagement photos.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans to take photos at the ice rink due to warm weather – can you believe that happened in Minnesota during winter?! We quickly came up with a new plan and decided to grab a cup of coffee at their favorite coffee shop, Caribou, and take photos in downtown Wayzata instead.

Before we started our photoshoot, Celine and Keegan warmed up with their hot mochas. We then started walking around downtown and taking in the winter scenery, admiring the frozen Lake Minnetonka. During our session, we chatted about how much they had in common – it was truly incredible! We even bonded over our shared love of Cheesecake Factory.

It’s always amazing to see two people find each other and connect in such a special way. I’m honored to have been able to capture Celine and Keegan’s love story in downtown Wayzata. As a photographer, I’m always prepared for any situation and am happy to come up with a new plan when things don’t go as expected. That’s exactly what happened with Celine and Keegan’s engagement session, and I couldn’t be happier with the way their photos turned out.
