You’ve found someone who is genuinely, wholeheartedly, without qualification excited to be your photographer.
Every couple I photograph deserves to feel completely seen, celebrated, and safe on their wedding day. For LGBTQ+ couples, finding a photographer who is truly affirming — not just tolerant, not just professionally accommodating, but genuinely excited to document your relationship and your love — matters. It changes how you feel in front of the camera. It changes the energy of the day. And it changes the photographs.
I am that photographer.

Minnesota has been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ rights in the Midwest — same-sex marriage has been legal here since 2013, and the Twin Cities have one of the most vibrant and visible LGBTQ+ communities in the entire country. Pride in Minneapolis and St. Paul draws tens of thousands of people. The arts, food, and cultural communities here are deeply inclusive.
But legal recognition doesn’t mean every vendor, every venue, or every corner of the state shares those values equally. I know that. And I want to be explicit about where I stand: every couple, every identity, every love story is fully welcomed, celebrated, and honored in my work.
Your wedding day is yours, and I’m here to document it exactly as it is.

No heteronormative posing. I don’t have a default set of “bride poses” and “groom poses” that I try to fit you into. I work with each couple specifically — who you are, how you move together, what feels natural and real — to create images that reflect your relationship, not a template.
Genuine enthusiasm. I’m not neutrally tolerating your love story. I’m genuinely excited to be there for it.
A safe, relaxed environment. Feeling safe and comfortable with your photographer makes an enormous difference in how your images turn out. I work hard to create that environment from our first conversation.
Discretion and care with your story. How and whether you share your images publicly is entirely your choice. I’ll never post or use your photos without your permission.

Minnesota has many beautiful, genuinely inclusive venues. Some of my favorites for LGBTQ+ couples:
Como Park Conservatory, St. Paul — One of the most beloved inclusive wedding venues in Minnesota. The Sunken Garden has hosted many beautiful LGBTQ+ ceremonies and the Como Park team has consistently been welcoming and professional.
Outdoor and public locations — The Twin Cities parks, North Shore state parks, and Minnesota’s natural spaces are public and fully inclusive. Minnehaha Falls, the North Shore cliffs, Como Park grounds — no vendor filter needed.
Industrial and modern Minneapolis venues — The Machine Shop, northeast Minneapolis loft spaces, and the city’s many modern event venues are generally very inclusive and welcome all couples.
Smaller, independent venues — Copper Hen Cakery, Paris Dining Club, and other independent Minneapolis spots tend to be deeply inclusive in both policy and culture.
I’m happy to share specific venue recommendations based on your vision, guest count, and aesthetic preferences when we connect.
Beyond photography, building a vendor team that feels right for your wedding matters. The Twin Cities has a strong, connected LGBTQ+ vendor community — inclusive officiants, queer-owned florists, affirming hair and makeup artists, and planners who specialize in working with LGBTQ+ couples.
Some starting points:
I’m happy to recommend specific vendors I’ve worked with and trust when you reach out.
For LGBTQ+ couples who want an intimate, private, deeply personal wedding experience — an elopement in Minnesota is genuinely beautiful.
The North Shore of Lake Superior. A private cabin in the woods. Minnehaha Falls at sunrise before anyone else arrives. Como Conservatory with a small circle of your people. A wildflower meadow in Theodore Wirth Park. These locations don’t care who you are — they’re just beautiful, and so is your love.
I help LGBTQ+ couples plan elopements throughout Minnesota and for destination work in Iceland, the Grand Tetons, Joshua Tree, Colorado, and beyond. See my full Minnesota elopement location guide → for inspiration.

If you’re dreaming of an elopement in Iceland, Grand Teton National Park, or another destination — I travel for exactly these trips. Iceland in particular is worth mentioning: it was one of the first countries in the world to legalize same-sex marriage and is one of the most LGBTQ+ inclusive destinations on the planet. A stunning combination of legal recognition and extraordinary natural beauty.

If you’ve been searching for a Minnesota LGBTQ+ wedding photographer who will show up for you the way you deserve — I’d love to connect.

Yes — Minnesota legalized same-sex marriage in 2013, making it one of the earlier states to do so. All marriage licenses issued in Minnesota are fully equal regardless of the genders of the couple. The Twin Cities in particular has one of the most vibrant and visible LGBTQ+ communities in the Midwest.
Beyond photography, the Twin Cities has a strong LGBTQ+ vendor community. The Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce directory and community organizations like OutFront Minnesota are good starting points. When you reach out to me, I’m happy to share specific vendor recommendations — officiants, florists, makeup artists, and planners — who are genuinely affirming.
Absolutely. I travel for destination elopements ALL OVER! Iceland in particular is worth noting — it was one of the first countries in the world to legalize same-sex marriage and is one of the most genuinely welcoming destinations I photograph in.
It means no default ‘bride and groom’ posing templates that don’t fit your relationship. It means genuine enthusiasm for your love story, not neutral professionalism. It means a photographer who is actually excited to be there — and that shows in how relaxed and present you feel in front of the camera, which shows in the photographs.
